Colorado Goldbacks Announced – Here’s What We Know So Far.

(Bullion News Network) – Last week, Goldback, Inc. announced that Colorado will be the 10th state to receive a full series of Goldbacks. Colorado Goldbacks are scheduled for release sometime in 2026, although a specific pre-sale date is not yet available. The new Goldback series comes after the release of the Arizona Goldback collection, which began shipping to customers on November 18th, 2025. Goldback, Inc. announced the 2026 release of an Idaho Goldback series in September, so collectors should expect the Colorado collection to premiere sometime after Idaho next year.

Colorado Goldbacks will be the 10th full Goldback collection to hit shelves. Previous releases (in order) include:

  1. Utah (2019)
  2. Nevada (2020)
  3. New Hampshire (2021)
  4. Wyoming (2022)
  5. South Dakota (2023)
  6. Florida (2025)
  7. Oklahoma (2025)
  8. Arizona (2025)
  9. Idaho (Forthcoming 2026)

2025 was a major year for the Goldback project. This year saw the release of three new Goldback collections: Florida, Oklahoma, and Arizona. The latest Goldback series to hit shelves in America was the Arizona Goldback collection, which began shipping from authorized dealers on November 18th, 2025. In September, Goldback, Inc. announced that the Idaho Goldback series will go on pre-sale sometime in 2026.

The Colorado Goldback series will go on sale at some point in 2026. As with previous releases, the series is likely to include a pre-sale period prior to shipment. Goldback, Inc. celebrated the announcement, which marks a “huge milestone for Goldback.” When the Colorado Goldback series is completed, 1/5th of all U.S. states will have a Goldback collection to call their own.

Crossing into double-digits shows the growth of both Goldbacks and our merchant network. Each new state brings new communities, new businesses, and new opportunities for people everywhere to use gold as currency!

Goldbacks are collectible voluntary currency notes that contain real gold. A single Goldback contains 1/1000th troy ounce of actual gold, and Goldbacks can be used at a range of participating businesses across the country. Goldback notes are fungible, which means that a 100 Goldback note contains the same amount of gold as 100 1 Goldbacks.

The forthcoming Colorado Goldback collection will likely feature obverse designs that celebrate the culture, history, and beauty of Colorado, along with feminine personifications of key virtues.

Each Goldback note features full artwork on one side, as well as a negative of the artwork on other side. Goldback artwork celebrates the cultures, environment, and beauty of the state it represents, and each note highlights a key “virtue” represented by a feminine personification. We expect the forthcoming Colorado Goldback series to follow a similar design and denomination trend as the 2025 releases (Florida, Oklahoma, and Arizona).
