Florida Goldbacks Are Coming in 2025 – Here’s What We Know So Far
(Bullion News Network) – This morning, Goldback, Inc. announced their plans to release a new series of Goldbacks for the state of Florida. This will be the sixth state to receive its own Goldback collection, following the release of Utah, Nevada, New Hampshire, Wyoming, and South Dakota Goldbacks. Florida Goldbacks are slated for release sometime in 2025, although the exact production timeline has not yet been finalized by Goldback, Inc.
Goldback, Inc. has not yet released official photos of the brand new Florida Goldback product line, but we expect these images to become public within the next few months. The company produced a sneak preview to announce the newest line of Goldbacks today – watch this video below.
Florida will be the highest population state to get its own Goldback collection, Goldback, Inc. said in today’s press release. This is true – and by a massive margin. Florida’s population crossed 23 million people for the first time ever this year. The next highest population state to receive a Goldback series is Utah, which has a population of just under 3.3 million people and was commemorated on the first Goldback collection in 2019.
Florida Goldbacks also represent a geographic departure from the rest of Goldback, Inc.’s product lines. The Florida Goldback series will be the first Goldback series focused on the Southeastern USA. The series began in the American Southwest before expanding to include Nevada, Wyoming, and South Dakota in a three-year period from 2021 to 2023. With the premier of Florida Goldbacks, the alternative gold currency now functionally spans all four quadrants of the U.S. map.
Goldback, Inc. expects the Florida Goldback series to be a stunning success that will revive and expand public interest in the project. The decision to choose Florida as the newest state to receive its own Goldbacks had a lot to do with both the state’s population and the Floridian government’s support of sound money. In a 2023 post, Goldback, Inc. explained their rationale as they searched for which state would appear on their next series:
The first thing to understand is that a new series needs a community of businesses in order to thrive. There’s usually a lot of activity in a State before a new series is ever released […] The second part has to do with laws that support sound money within your State. Some States are very hostile towards precious metals and go as far as to charge sales tax on gold, including Goldbacks.
With this in mind, it makes sense why Goldback, Inc. opted to select Florida for the next Goldback series release. As a booming commerce state with both a high population and relatively lenient tax laws on precious metals, Florida presents the ideal environment for the larger adoption of an alternative, gold-based currency.
