This Unity & Liberty round blends icons from different coins and from American icons. The obverse side of the round has the image of Lady Liberty and she is kind of facing toward the viewer like the St. Gauden’s Lady Liberty. This version has her wielding a sword in one hand while she is carrying an American flag in the other hand. Above her head is ‘E Pluribus Unum’ the Latin phrase for ‘From many one’.
The reverse side of the coin has a bundle of sticks known as a ‘fasces’ which was used on the reverse of the Mercury dime. This is a symbol of power and authority. Wrapped around the fasces is a rattlesnake. The rattlesnake is reminiscent of the flag proposed by Benjamin Franklin that was meant to rally the colonies in uniting to fight the British during the Revolutionary War. This has now come to be a symbol of unity today. Above the image is ‘ONE TROY OUNCE’. Below the image is ‘999 FINE SILVER’.

I own 35 of these “Unity” / “Unity in Liberty” rounds and they are just gorgeous! The micro-engraving on these rounds is just stellar! The Cutsaw Mint did a great job with this round! (The only problem I have with this round is that Cutsaw changed the mint mark they had for quite some time which had a little shield and stated “In God We Trust” but that has now been removed and they have a new Saw-blade mint mark with the letters C/S. I obviously liked the “In God We Trust” mint mark a lot more. But these are such gorgeous rounds, that I have bought thirty-five of the 1 ounce, five of the high relief 2 ounce rounds, and one of the 5 ounce bars. Luckily I was able to obtain a full tube of twenty of the 1 ounce rounds with the “In God We Trust” mint mark on those before Cutsaw changed the mint mark 🙂
I definitely recommend adding some of these beauties to you stack!
