The obverse presents a full-length Liberty in flowing robes, standing barefoot and turned toward the viewer. Her right hand holds a sword angled down, the tip resting near the ground. Behind the figure, a micro-engraved radiant background of fine lines and overlapping petal shapes catches light as the round moves. E PLURIBUS UNUM arcs across a ribbon along the upper rim, and the CS mintmark sits inside a small saw-blade frame at the right.
The reverse centers on a fasces, the bound bundle of rods with a projecting axe head that has represented collective strength since Roman times. A rattlesnake winds around it in two coils, head raised at the right with the scales and rattle rendered in fine detail. Olive sprigs wrap the lower half. The rattlesnake was one of colonial America’s earliest emblems of resistance, making the pairing a deliberate one. The same micro-engraved sunburst field carries over from the obverse.
Each round measures roughly 39 mm across with a reeded edge and arrives brand new in brilliant uncirculated condition. Singles ship in protective flips; tubes hold 20 rounds.

I own 35 of these “Unity” / “Unity in Liberty” rounds and they are just gorgeous! The micro-engraving on these rounds is just stellar! The Cutsaw Mint did a great job with this round! (The only problem I have with this round is that Cutsaw changed the mint mark they had for quite some time which had a little shield and stated “In God We Trust” but that has now been removed and they have a new Saw-blade mint mark with the letters C/S. I obviously liked the “In God We Trust” mint mark a lot more. But these are such gorgeous rounds, that I have bought thirty-five of the 1 ounce, five of the high relief 2 ounce rounds, and one of the 5 ounce bars. Luckily I was able to obtain a full tube of twenty of the 1 ounce rounds with the “In God We Trust” mint mark on those before Cutsaw changed the mint mark 🙂
