The iconic Peace Silver Dollar remains one of the most coveted coins in the history of the U.S. Mint. Artist Anthony De Francisci designed both sides of the Peace Silver Dollar, which features a bald eagle and Lady Liberty. Interestingly enough, his own wife modeled for Lady Liberty, adding a unique story to this world famous design. Both the obverse and reverse of the Peace Silver Dollar pay homage to classic American iconography, and the pioneering design of this piece is a main contributor to its staying power in the American coin industry.

Like all American silver dollars minted before 1965, this coin is minted using 90% pure silver. While this means the bullion coin doesn’t offer the purity of some other coins we sell at Hero Bullion, it makes up for this lower fineness in a few different ways. To start, these Peace Silver Dollars have been preserved for nearly 90 years by the U.S. Mint. These coins are brought to you in BU (Brilliant Uncirculated) condition. This is especially great, considering that these coins were only minted in the eras of 1922-1926 and 1934-1935. These impressive coins combine uncirculation with history in a way that few other bullion pieces can.

Key Features:

  • Obverse Depiction: Lady Liberty as modeled by Teresa de Francisci.
  • Recommended Supplies; 38mm Coin Capsule, Capsule Tube, Cotton Gloves

Collect a piece of American bullion history with these unique uncirculated coins. The Peace Silver Dollar’s initial run happened in 1922, where it was distributed en masse until 1926. The coins were once again distributed as an official form of fiat currency in 1934 and 1935. While this history is fascinating and exciting by itself, none of these coins have the wear and tear you’d expect from pieces this old. That’s because our Peace Silver Dollar Coins have been preserved in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition by the United States Mint.

The obverse of the Peace Silver Dollar presents a novel depiction of Lady Liberty, a classic American symbol of freedom and national identity. Here, she is modeled after Teresa, wife of designer Anthony De Francisci. It is said that Teresa’s lifelong aspiration was to be a professional model, and she considered it a high honor to be used as the model for beautiful Lady Liberty on this world famous coin. Lady Liberty on this coin wears a spiked crown, and her hair visibly flows in the wind behind her.

The reverse of this coin honors another undeniable American symbol in American history: the American Bald Eagle. It sits perched atop a mountain in this piece, with a sun seeming to rise in the background. A single olive branch sits at its feet, invoking yet another symbol of America’s commitment to peace and strength.

It’s hard to deny the classic history of the Peace Silver Dollar. Many versions of this coin are available in circulated condition, and we always appreciate the unique appeal of a coin that has made its rounds among the American people. But this Brilliant Uncirculated Peace Silver Dollar Coin is a unique opportunity for collectors to celebrate the piece in its original, untarnished beauty.

I already purchased a VG+ Morgan so I was really disappointed when I received this BU Peace dollar in much worse shape… I’d appreciate a few dollars refund to match the lower condition prices tbh….
