The obverse presents Liberty in left-facing profile, her hair loosely gathered and streaming behind her, a crown of light rays projecting from her head in the manner of classical sun deities. LIBERTY spans the top rim, IN GOD WE TRVST flanks her neck in the period’s Latin-style lettering, and the date sits below. Sculptor Anthony de Francisci modeled the portrait partly on his wife, Teresa. The reverse shows a bald eagle perched on a rocky crag, wings folded, an olive branch gripped in its talons as it faces rays of morning light. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and E PLURIBUS UNUM arc overhead, ONE DOLLAR splits the middle field, and PEACE is inscribed on the rock below, the only US circulating coin to carry the word.
Coins grade Brilliant Uncirculated, showing full mint luster and complete design detail with no wear, though scattered contact marks from mint bags are normal for the type. Standard specifications include a 38.1 mm diameter and a gross weight of 26.73 grams.

I gave this coin 5 stars. First, you can’t beat the price of a silver coin that’s about 100 years old. It is BU, however there is some light scuffs. I suspect this is not from circulation, but from being stored in the US Mint’s vaults for so long. The US Mint’s web page says they are counted before being put into a bag and weighed. Don’t expect a MS70 coin for the price offered, but expect a condition grade of “Uncirculated” or a MS60+. The coin I received has its original luster and a few light scuffs. Very happy for what I paid for it.

I already purchased a VG+ Morgan so I was really disappointed when I received this BU Peace dollar in much worse shape… I’d appreciate a few dollars refund to match the lower condition prices tbh….
