The 2024 1/10 oz American Gold Eagle packs the most widely traded gold coin in the United States into its smallest, most affordable size. Struck by the US Mint in 22-karat gold with a full 1/10 troy ounce of pure gold and a $5 face value, it offers instant recognition, easy liquidity, and a low entry price that suits first-time gold buyers and seasoned stackers filling out fractional holdings.

Key Features:

  • Purity and Weight: 1/10 oz actual gold weight in .9167 fine (22-karat) gold
  • Metal: Gold alloyed with silver and copper for durability, backed by the US government
  • Obverse Design: Saint-Gaudens’ full-length Liberty striding forward with torch and olive branch
  • Reverse Design: A close-up bald eagle portrait with the $5 denomination

The obverse carries Augustus Saint-Gaudens’ celebrated Lady Liberty, first struck on the $20 double eagle of 1907. She strides toward the viewer with her gown flowing, a lit torch raised in her right hand and an olive branch in her left. Rays of sunlight fan out behind her, the US Capitol dome sits small at the lower left, and a ring of stars circles the rim. LIBERTY arcs overhead with the 2024 date in the right field.

The reverse features the portrait introduced in the series’ 2021 redesign: a bald eagle rendered head-and-shoulders in close profile, each feather along its crown and neck struck in crisp relief. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA wraps the top rim above the mottoes E PLURIBUS UNUM and IN GOD WE TRUST, while 5 DOLLARS ★ 1/10 OZ. FINE GOLD completes the legend below. The designer initials of Jennie Norris appear beside the eagle’s neck.

Gold Eagles are among the few bullion coins whose weight and content are guaranteed by act of Congress, and the tenth-ounce size trades actively worldwide. This Brilliant Uncirculated example shows full mint luster, and the format is also eligible for precious metals IRAs.

Trusted design, government backing, and a tenth-ounce price make this coin one of the simplest ways to start or grow a gold position. Order the 2024 1/10 oz Gold Eagle today.
