The New Hampshire Goldback series is a specie legal tender instrument — each note contains actual 24K gold layered within a durable polymer substrate, usable in commerce and tradeable as a recognized alternative currency. The 10 denomination holds 1/100th of a troy ounce of 24K gold and features original artwork themed around Prospicienti — Latin for “looking forward” — rendered in the detailed engraving style that defines the Goldback program. At 5 5/8 inches by 2 9/16 inches (14.2 cm x 6.5 cm), it handles like a banknote and stores flat.

Key Features:

  • Gold content: 1/100 troy oz of 24K gold embedded in aurum polymer
  • Denomination: 10 Goldbacks
  • Obverse: A young figure in colonial dress seated atop a field cannon, set against a coastal landscape with a sailing ship; a banner reading Prospicienti arcs above the scene
  • Reverse: Plain gold-toned polymer with mirrored New Hampshire Goldbacks text and denomination visible in reverse

The obverse is richly composed in the fine-art engraving style characteristic of the Goldback program. A young figure dressed in colonial-era clothing sits relaxed atop a large field cannon, one leg resting on the wheel, gazing outward with quiet confidence. Behind the figure, a wide coastal scene stretches across the field — a sailing vessel on open water, birds in flight, and a distant landscape rendered in layered detail. A bold scroll banner arcs across the upper portion of the scene reading Prospicienti, with a caption at the base reading “Look Forward.” Cotton plants appear in the lower foreground, adding depth to the composition.

The ornate border frames the scene in the fine-line guilloche pattern traditional to currency design, with the denomination 10 in each corner. The GB 2023 seal and Goldback.com appear in the lower left alongside the series identifier. At the base, bold text confirms 1/100 Troy Ounce 24K Gold, with the statement that the note is exchangeable by Goldback Inc. to US Gold Coin to Bearer on Demand. The note carries US Patent Pending status and is identified as a Specie Legal Tender Instrument.
