Goldbacks are a popular alternative way to invest in gold bullion. Though they’re still relatively new on the bullion market, a growing number of gold investors are turning to Goldbacks as a way to accumulate pure gold while also participating in an exciting alternative currency.
The New Hampshire Goldback series offers five denominations: 1, 5, 10, 25, and 50. Hero Bullion is glad to offer consumers the 1 New Hampshire Goldback Note, which is minted with 1/1000 Troy Ounce of .9999 pure gold and features imagery reminiscent of New Hampshire’s vibrant culture.
We cover the basic concept behind Goldbacks more extensively in our Golback category page. Goldbacks are intricately designed notes which, as the name suggests, are minted with a thin layer of pure gold bullion on their backs. Goldbacks allow investors the unique opportunity to buy extremely small amounts of fine gold. Traditional bullion products like gold coins and bars really don’t get much smaller than a gram, and exceedingly small coins and bars come with extreme premiums over spot.
The 1 New Hampshire Goldback Note includes 1/1000 Troy Ounce of pure gold and can be used as a viable currency at several establishments in New Hampshire.
Key Features:
- 1/1000 Troy Ounce .9999 pure gold.
- Unique reverse security feature.
- Obverse depiction: Gratias, feminine personification of grace, mounds of pumpkins, and an otter.
- Reverse Depiction: Negative reversal of the obverse design.
The Goldback serieses of Nevada, Utah, and New Hampshire all follow a similar design pattern. Each denomination of the New Hampshire Goldback Notes centers an artistic depiction of a feminine personification of virtue.
The virtue featured on the 1 denomination is Gratia, also known as Grace. Here, she sits resting below a tree while wearing a sash that reads “Gratia.” In the foreground of the design, a small otter looks directly at the viewer while a pile of pumpkins sits on the right side. Goldbacks regularly celebrate images close to the identity of their states. As one might expect, the Nevada series celebrates the impressive architectural history of Las Vegas, as well as the values that the city represents.
New Hampshire’s state identity really shines through on this obverse design. The otter is native to the state, and the yearly pumpkin industry thrives in the moderate climate and ripe soil of New Hampshire. The reverse of this piece includes the negative reversal of the obverse design. While it may not add much to the aesthetic appeal of the Goldback, this design serves an important purpose; it provides an added element of security, making it harder for counterfeiters to replicate the Goldback.
Much of the value of the Goldback comes from its place in a larger series. Collecting all five in the New Hampshire Goldback Note Series provides collectors with an unprecedented artistic look into the history and culture of New Hampshire.
Celebrate the value of the virtue Gratias, as well as the flora and fauna native to New Hampshire, with the 1 New Hampshire Goldback.
