It stands to reason that when the zombie apocalypse happens, coin makers are going to want to use some of the coins from the past as inspiration. The Zombucks Walker 1 oz Copper Round is the logical iteration of what is considered to be one of the most beautiful if not THE most beautiful coin ever made-the Walking Liberty coin. This coin looks fabulous in 1 AVDP oz of .999 fine copper.

This Walking Liberty design appeared on the American Eagle half dollar from 1916-1947 and then the American Silver Eagle from 1986-2013. It was designed by Adolph Weinman. It is widely loved for its expression of patriotism. Here on the obverse of this coin, the reality of the zombie apocalypse has taken its toll on Lady Liberty as she is now a rotting zombie striding forward not carrying an olive branch but an axe. At her feet is not Washington. D.C. but a mushroom cloud. The characteristic flag that waves behind her is in tatters. Replacing ‘LIBERTY’ at the top of the coin is ‘WALKER’. To the right of the image is 2 and the zombucks symbol. At the bottom is ‘2017’.

 

On the reverse is a blood spattered biohazard, a somber reminder of the virus or pathogen that will have caused the zombie apocalypse or the fact that a zombie bite can pass on zombieism. Inscribed above the image is ‘ZOMBUCKS’, CURRENCY OF THE APOCALYPSE’. Below is ‘1 oz .999 FINE SILVER’.
