The XF+ 90% Silver Walking Liberty Half Dollar | $1 Face offers a compelling blend of historic American coinage and dependable silver value. Featuring two Walking Liberty Half Dollars in Extra Fine or better condition, this $1 face value lot delivers both strong eye appeal and tangible precious metal content. Struck between 1916 and 1947 and limited to common dates, these coins provide collectors and investors with an accessible way to own one of the most celebrated designs in U.S. numismatic history.

Key Features:

  • Purity and Weight: 90% silver; $1 face value (2 coins) containing approximately 0.715 troy oz of pure silver

  • Metal Type: Silver

  • Obverse Design: Walking Liberty striding toward the rising sun

  • Reverse Design: Eagle perched on a mountain crag with pine branch

The obverse showcases the renowned Walking Liberty design by Adolph A. Weinman, first introduced in 1916. Liberty advances confidently toward the dawn, draped in the American flag, symbolizing progress and renewal. The rising sun at her feet and the flowing movement of her garments give the design a dynamic, almost sculptural quality. Coins in XF+ condition retain strong detail in Liberty’s gown lines and central features, offering a pleasing balance between light circulation and preserved definition.

On the reverse, a powerful eagle stands atop a rocky ledge, wings partially raised in readiness. A pine branch appears at the side, representing resilience and endurance. The inscriptions encircling the design affirm its status as United States legal tender. Even in circulated grades, the bold relief and balanced composition remain visually impressive, especially in Extra Fine or higher condition.

Each lot includes two common-date Walking Liberty Half Dollars dated between 1916 and 1947. The coins are guaranteed to be 90% silver and in XF+ (Extra Fine or better) condition, meaning moderate wear is visible on high points, yet major details remain sharp and well-defined.

Each half dollar weighs 12.5 grams, measures 30.6 mm in diameter, and features a reeded edge. With $1 face value total, the pair contains approximately 0.715 troy ounces of pure silver, making it a practical option for those accumulating pre-1965 U.S. silver coinage.

Unlike generic bullion, these coins carry both melt value and historical significance. Their circulation during pivotal decades of American history adds character that modern silver issues cannot replicate.

The XF+ 90% Silver Walking Liberty Half Dollar | $1 Face lot combines strong collectible condition with reliable silver content. Ideal for both silver stackers and classic U.S. coin enthusiasts, this pair offers beauty, history, and intrinsic value in one purchase. Add this timeless American silver to your collection today.

Got 1944-P and S. Light wear on both (slightly worn hand with scratched fields). Some luster. The S had paint in the date – dissolved with acetone. Nice to get 2 mints same year! Pleased!

Great deal! Both coins exceeded the XF. No noticable wear. one had a bit of chatter in the fields, but the relief was quite sharp. The other, also very sharp on details, but a few scratches on the relief. Overall, they are great looking coins. I expected my chances were good to get later dates, and I did. Both 46 p’s. Wish I had different dates but overall the quality was more than I expected.
