The Wheat Penny 1 oz Copper Round is an homage to the original “wheat penny’ design that graced the reverse of pennies in the United States from 1909-1959. This version looks gorgeous in 1 oz of .999 copper.
Key features::
- Made of 1 AVDP oz of .999 pure copper.
- Obverse side has a modern take on the Wheat Penny Lincoln design
- Reverse side has a shield with wings and a flag behind it
The Lincoln Penny obverse design was created by Augustus Saint-Gaudens and has been on the one cent coin in the United States since 1909. The reverse side had ‘ONE CENT’ and had wheat on the right and left sides. In 1959 the reverse design was changed to the Lincoln monument. This coin combines the wheat side with the Lincoln design in a tribute to the popular classic penny. Above the image is ‘E Pluribus Unum’, the Latin phrase meaning ‘From many, one’ referring to the melting pot nature of the United States. Lincoln looks so stately and is depicted in high detail facing the right. The stalks of wheat have a lined design behind them that makes them pop.
The reverse side is a mashup of patriotic images. There is a shield with an eagle’s wings and stars on it. Below the shield is ‘USA’. Above and behind the shield is an American flag unfurling behind it. The detail in this coin is so brilliant you can see the folds of the flag reacting to the wind.
This is a great opportunity to get some copper into your collection with a design that screams collectability. You have a beautiful design on 1 AVDP ounce. This is a design that hearkens to one of the most popular coin designs of all time. Consequently, is sure to be a highly collectible coin. Get yours today.
