The obverse opens with a circular medallion set into the upper portion of the bar. Liberty strides forward in flowing robes, the American flag draped across her shoulder and her right arm extended toward the rising sun at lower left, whose rays fan out behind her. Branches rest in the crook of her left arm, and IN GOD WE TRUST is stamped in the field beside her. Below the medallion, a large numeral 1 dominates the center, overlaid by One Troy Ounce across the top and FINE SILVER with 999+ across the lower half. A boxed panel near the bottom reads Made in U.S.A., with the HM hallmark stamped in the lower right corner. The border is a raised, rounded frame.

The reverse is fully covered in a repeating diagonal lattice, with rows of small raised diamonds sitting inside a linked grid. The pattern serves a practical purpose beyond decoration: it breaks up light across the surface, so minor handling marks are far less noticeable than they would be on a plain mirrored face.
