Do I lose any gold when I snap off a piece?

No. Breaking a one gram segment off along its scored line doesn’t remove or waste any metal. The full weight remains, however many pieces you break off.

Can I break off just a few grams and keep the rest whole?

Yes. Each one gram bar separates individually, so you can break off as few or as many as you want and keep the remainder as one connected piece. Break off only some, nothing forces an all-or-nothing split.

Does a CombiBar cost more than a solid 100 gram bar?

Yes. Scoring and stamping a hundred individual segments takes more manufacturing work than casting one solid bar, so the premium runs higher. The flexibility costs more, the tradeoff for being able to spend it in pieces.

Is the Valcambi CombiBar IRA eligible?
