Ancient Greek history doesn’t begin or end with Athens, the birthplace of direct democracy. The wide range of cultural traditions that we associate with the Ancient Greeks actually come from several civilizations that expanded and waned during a period of thousands of years. The Triskele is one symbol that seems to transcend these various cultures and timespans. It actually dates back even further than the Ancient Greeks, having been a recurring Ancient motif seen featured on artifacts from both Bronze Age and Neolithic cultures.

Hero Bullion has released a new series of Hand-Poured 5 oz Silver Rounds. For fans of Ancient symbolism and motifs, the Triskele 5 oz Hand-Poured Silver Round is one of the most valuable pieces in the set. We’ve put our own spin on the symbol, centering it as it’s surrounded by interlocking images that circle the round.

Our rounds are hand-poured personally by Hero Bullion’s expert artists to ensure a unique, rustic feel on every product. That’s right – these rounds are poured by us, right here in Texas. We use the highest quality silver possible, pouring each coin with 5 troy ounces of .999 pure silver bullion.

For our model of the Triskele symbol, we borrowed heavily from the Triskelion of Sicily, a Greek artifact from the Minoan era. The original Triskelion featured three interlocked legs. Don’t worry – we opted to use a symbolic, minimalist version of this exemplar design. The symbol is centered and rendered in high relief in front of a textured, opaque background. The interlocking symbols surround the outside of the coin, creating a beautiful ring that highlights and mirrors the central Triskele.

We also include a free drawstring pouch with all purchases from our 5 oz Hand-Poured Silver Round series. We feel that the drawstring pouch completes the unique vibe of these coins, which are all slightly different from one another. After all, the benefit of a hand-pour is that it creates a finish that’s unlikely to be replicated. Unlike traditional coins, this process of making a silver round guarantees that your coin is unique and comes with its own unreplicated look and feel.

Specifications:

  • Purity: .999 pure silver bullion.
  • Weight: 5 troy ounces per piece.
  • Obverse Depiction: The minimalist Triskele design surrounded by a circle of interlocking linear symbols.
  • Reverse Depiction: You’ll find the weight and purity of the round, along with Hero Bullion’s logo.

These pieces are a Hero Bullion exclusive, and we’ve made every effort to hand-pour each round to make them unique, highly collectible items. The rustic, antique finish provided by the hand-pouring process creates the look and feel of a classic, ancient coin. From our perspective, the hand-pour process is the best way to invoke the sense of historical and cultural importance associated with one of antiquity’s most enduring recurring symbols.
