PAMP and the Rosa
PAMP Suisse, based at Castel San Pietro in southern Switzerland, is the refiner that made decorative bullion bars a category, starting with the Fortuna in 1979. The Rosa is one of that line: a single rose stem with one full bloom and two buds, layered petals against a mirror field, inside a polished raised border. The other face carries the PAMP monogram over SUISSE 50 g FINE GOLD 999.9, the assayer’s stamp, and the serial.
What You Are Paying For
The Rosa design and the PAMP name put a premium over plain bars of the same weight. The gold is the same 50 grams of .9999 fine. If you want the lowest cost per gram at this size, a plain cast bar will beat it.
Fifty grams is also one piece, not several. You sell the whole bar or none of it. The same gold bought as smaller bars costs more per gram but lets you sell in parts.
Keep it in the sealed card if you can. The certificate, the sealed blister and the serial on both the bar and the card are how a buyer verifies it. Break the seal and resale gets slower and the offer usually softer.

Is the serial number on the bar or only the certificate?
Both. PAMP stamps the serial into the bar and prints the same number on the sealed certificate, so the two can be matched.
Should I keep it in the sealed PAMP card?
Yes, if you can. The sealed card, the printed certificate and the matching serial are what a future buyer checks. Opening it does not change the gold, but it makes resale slower and can cost you on the offer.
Why does the Rosa cost more than a plain 50 gram gold bar?
You are paying for the Rosa design and the PAMP name on top of the metal. The gold content is identical to a plain bar of the same weight and fineness.
