The PAMP Fortuna 50 gram Gold Bar holds 50 grams of 999.9 fine gold, about 1.6 troy ounces, under the Lady Fortuna design PAMP introduced in 1979. At 27 by 47 mm, it is large enough for the design’s fine detail to show without a loupe. It ships new, sealed in PAMP’s CertiPAMP card, with an assay certificate that carries the same serial as the bar.
Every Attribute, Easy to See
PAMP shows Fortuna, the Roman goddess of prosperity, with her traditional attributes: sheaves of wheat in her hair, poppies, a horn of plenty spilling coins, and the wheel of fortune behind her. On the smaller Fortuna bars these details are tiny. On the 50 gram they are clear, from the weave of the horn to the individual coins at its mouth. PAMP strikes this side with a proof-like finish.
The Stamped Side and the Card
The other side is stamped with the PAMP logo, SUISSE, 50 g, FINE GOLD and 999.9, then PAMP’s ESSAYEUR FONDEUR assayer mark and the serial number. In our photo, the bar reads C548726 and so does the certificate. The certificate lists the fineness as Au 999.9 and the weight as 50 g, and carries a certified assayer’s signature and a VERISCAN mark. The two numbers match, bar and card.
Why a 50 Gram Bar
Fifty grams is a step past the one ounce size. It usually costs less per ounce than gram-size PAMP bars, since the card, the Veriscan registration and the design are spread across more gold, while still sitting below a 100 gram or kilo bar in cost. About 1.6 ounces in one sealed bar, with the Fortuna design at its clearest.

How does Veriscan work on this bar?
PAMP records the microscopic surface of each bar when it is made. Scanning the bar with PAMP’s Veriscan app compares it with that record, with the card sealed or open. The scan reads the gold, not the card.
Does the serial number on the bar match the card?
Yes. The serial stamped at the base of the bar is printed on the certificate as the certificate number. One number, twice, so the bar and card stay paired.
Should I remove the protective film?
PAMP describes the film as removable and there to protect the CertiPAMP card. It is not part of the certificate. The film is optional, so keep it on or take it off.
Is the PAMP Fortuna 50 gram bar IRA eligible?
Yes. At 999.9 fine, it is above the .995 minimum for gold in a precious metals IRA. IRA eligible, through your custodian.
