The Goddess and Her Attributes
Lady Fortuna is the Roman goddess of fortune, and PAMP shows her in profile with the symbols that go with her: sheaves of wheat, poppies, a horn of plenty spilling coins, and the wheel of fortune behind her. PAMP strikes this side with a proof-like finish. The other side states the facts in plain capitals, SUISSE, 5 g, FINE GOLD and 999.9, over PAMP’s assayer mark and the bar’s serial number.
The Card It Ships In
The bar sits in a window in PAMP’s CertiPAMP card. One face repeats the Fortuna design in a large silver outline on dark blue and reads SWISS MADE. The other is the assay certificate, printed with the certificate number, Au 999,9, 5 g and the signature of PAMP’s certificate assayer, next to a VERISCAN mark. The certificate number matches the serial stamped on the bar.
What a Small Bar Costs
Five grams of gold costs more per ounce than a full ounce does. Striking, registering and carding a small bar costs PAMP close to what a large one does, and that cost lands on about a sixth of an ounce of gold. The Fortuna design adds a premium of its own over a plain bar. A higher premium per ounce is the price of a small, well known bar, and it is worth knowing before you buy.

How do I check the bar with Veriscan?
Download PAMP’s Veriscan app and scan the bar. Veriscan reads the microscopic surface texture of the metal, which PAMP recorded when the bar was made, and compares it with that record. The scan reads the gold, so it works whether the card is sealed or not.
Should I open the CertiPAMP card?
There is no need to. The bar can be viewed through the card window, and a sealed card with a matching serial is the easiest thing for a dealer to accept when you sell. Sealed is simpler to resell, though opening it does not change the gold.
Is the PAMP Fortuna 5 gram bar IRA eligible?
