The obverse looks up at the Twin Towers standing against a sky of orange and violet clouds, with the sun breaking between them and a bald eagle in flight to the right. A large American flag fills the left half, its stars and stripes rendered in full color on a raised pole. Three figures stand with their backs to the viewer along the bottom: a firefighter in helmet and turnout gear with an air tank, an officer in an NYPD jacket, and a paramedic marked with the Star of Life. The framing places the viewer behind them, looking at what they lost.
The reverse shifts to the memorial as it stands now. Two beams of blue light rise from the skyline into a night sky, recreating the annual Tribute in Light installation, with the completed One World Trade Center visible at the right. A pair of angel wings arcs up on either side. Below, the memorial pool falls away with water running down all four walls, and a single rose rests on the bronze parapet, echoing the roses placed on inscribed names each year. 2001 and 2026 flank a laurel wreath marked 25 YEARS, with 250 G and 999 CU stamped in the lower corners.
