The Morgan Dollar is one of the most beloved coin designs in American numismatic history. This Dual-Sided Diamond Dust 1 oz Copper Round takes that iconic design and gives it a finish unlike anything in standard copper — a diamond dust treatment applied to both faces, producing a deep, light-catching sparkle beneath the struck copper devices that transforms a familiar design into something genuinely collector-grade. Part of The American Collection – Copper Edition, this round is limited to just 5,000 individually numbered pieces, each arriving in a dedicated presentation box with a Certificate of Authenticity.

Key Features:

  • Weight: 1 AVDP oz
  • Purity: .999 Fine Copper
  • Series: The American Collection – Copper Edition
  • Finish: Diamond Dust — applied to both obverse and reverse fields
  • Mintage: Limited to 5,000; individually serialized on box
  • Obverse Design: Classic Morgan Dollar Liberty portrait in left-facing profile; Liberty inscribed on headband; wheat ear and cotton blossom headdress; thirteen stars along the border; E Pluribus Unum above; date 1884 below; deep blue diamond dust field
  • Reverse Design: Heraldic eagle with spread wings, olive branch and arrows, arrowhead shield on breast; United States of America above; 999 Copper and One AVDP Ounce below; deep red diamond dust field
  • Packaging: Individually serialized COA; The American Collection – Copper Edition presentation box

The obverse opens on the Morgan Liberty portrait — one of the most recognized coin designs ever produced by the United States Mint, here rendered in crisp copper relief. Liberty faces left in classical profile, her hair pinned and flowing in soft waves, her cap and headband inscribed Liberty in raised lettering. A wheat ear and cotton blossom headdress crowns the composition — the two crops that defined American agricultural identity in the Morgan Dollar’s era. Thirteen stars ring the inner border, and E Pluribus Unum arcs across the top in bold relief. The date 1884 sits below the portrait. What makes this obverse extraordinary is its field: a deep, saturated midnight blue diamond dust background that catches light as a field of sparkling blue-white points. The warm rose tone of the copper devices against that dark, glittering field creates a contrast that reads like a constellation map — or the night sky viewed through clear glass.

The reverse carries the heraldic eagle of the classic Morgan reverse — wings spread wide, head turned right, talons gripping an olive branch and a bundle of arrows. The breast shield is struck in precise detail, and the eagle’s feathers are rendered with the same faithful relief as the original design. United States of America arcs above, with 999 Copper and One AVDP Ounce inscribed below. The field here shifts the palette entirely: a deep, saturated crimson red diamond dust background fills every open surface, the individual glitter points catching the light as vivid red sparks against the copper eagle. The contrast between the two faces — blue obverse and red reverse — gives the round a deliberate dual identity that rewards picking it up and turning it over.

Each round ships in The American Collection – Copper Edition presentation box — a sturdy drawer-style box with an American flag and Morgan portrait design on the lid, appropriate for display or gifting. Inside, a serialized Certificate of Authenticity confirms the round’s individual number within the 5,000-piece mintage, its .999 fine copper composition, 1 AVDP oz weight, and diamond dust finish. A display stand is included.

At 5,000 pieces with individual serial numbers, this is a genuine limited release with packaging and presentation to match. The combination of a historically significant design, a striking dual-color diamond dust finish, and a numbered COA makes this one of the stronger collector copper offerings in the series.
