The Incuse Indian 1/10 oz Silver Round revives one of the boldest experiments in American coin design on a tenth troy ounce of .999 fine silver. Struck by Golden State Mint in the United States, it recreates Bela Lyon Pratt’s famous incuse Indian Head, a design where the artwork sits below the surface rather than raised above it. The fractional size keeps the price of entry minimal and makes the round a natural for small trades, gifts, and starter stacks.

Key Features:

  • Purity and Weight: 1/10 troy ounce of .999 fine silver
  • Metal Type: Investment-grade silver bullion, IRA eligible
  • Obverse: A Native American chief in full feathered headdress, ringed by LIBERTY and thirteen stars
  • Reverse: A standing eagle on a bundle of arrows and olive branch, with national mottoes

The obverse presents the left-facing profile of a Native American chief wearing a war bonnet, its feathers trailing in detailed rows down past his shoulder. LIBERTY arcs across the top rim, and thirteen stars circle the portrait around the remaining edge. The design honors Pratt’s 1908 composition for the U.S. $5 and $2.50 gold pieces, the only circulating American coins ever struck with incuse relief, a technique that recessed every element into the coin’s field.

The reverse carries Pratt’s companion design: a proud eagle standing on a bundle of arrows wrapped with an olive branch, symbols of readiness and peace held in balance. GOLDEN STATE MINT spans the upper rim, with E PLURIBUS UNUM at the left and IN GOD WE TRUST at the right. Along the bottom edge, inscriptions state the round’s weight and purity: 1/10 OZ .999 FINE SILVER.

Each round ships in new condition. At .999 fineness it meets IRS standards and is eligible for precious metals IRAs. As a private-mint round it carries no face value, keeping premiums modest even in the fractional size.
