This bar is poured at Hero Bullion’s own facility in Texas, not struck at a mint and shipped in. Molten silver goes into an open mold and cools on its own schedule, the way silver bars were made before machine pressing took over. Every bar holds 10 troy ounces of .999 fine silver, at a lower premium than a comparably sized struck bar. Poured, not struck, which is where the savings come from.

The obverse carries HERO in a bold blocked typeface over BULLION spaced out beneath it, with the company’s own shield emblem below: a pentagonal outline enclosing an angular, mask-like device. Near the base, the bar reads 10 TROY OUNCES over .999 FINE SILVER, struck into the metal after the pour so the lettering sits crisp against the softly uneven cast surface. This design ships only through Hero Bullion. The shield is ours alone, not shared with any other seller.

No Two Are Ever Alike

The reverse is left exactly as it cooled: a coarse, crystalline surface with pitting, small voids, and a rippled grain where the silver contracted while setting. Corners come out rounded and the sides bulge slightly, the natural result of metal filling a mold under its own weight rather than a die under pressure. The bar you receive won’t match a photograph exactly, and won’t match any other bar we’ve poured either. Every pour is different, by the nature of the process.

Tested for Weight and Purity

What doesn’t vary is the metal. Every bar weighs a full 10 troy ounces and assays at .999 fine silver, checked the same way regardless of how the surface looks. Poured silver also picks up toning faster than a machined bar because of its rougher, higher surface area, and light patina over time is normal and doesn’t touch the silver content. Weight and purity are checked, whatever the surface looks like.

Is this bar really poured by Hero Bullion, or just branded with the name?

Poured, by our own technicians at our Texas facility, not contracted out to a third-party mint. We pour it ourselves, start to finish.

Why does the back of the bar look so rough?

Because it’s left exactly as it cooled, with no machining or polishing afterward. The pitting, voids, and rippled texture are what a poured surface actually looks like, not a defect. The texture is intentional, part of what a poured bar is.

Will my bar match the product photo exactly?

No. Every poured bar cools a little differently, so expect a similar look rather than an identical one. Texture varies bar to bar, even from the same pour.

What condition does this bar ship in?

New, hand finished after pouring, with no prior handling. Light toning may develop over time from storage, which is normal for poured silver and doesn’t affect the silver content. Condition is new, poured and hand finished.

How much silver is actually in this bar?

A full 10 troy ounces of .999 fine silver, the same as any struck 10 oz bar on the site. Only the surface changes, never the silver content.
