Verify Your Goldbacks in Seconds
Starting in 2025, every Goldback denomination is minted with UV-reactive ink as a built-in security feature. This penlight is how you check it. Shine its 365nm UV light on the back of a 2025 or newer Goldback and hidden text appears, the note’s numerical denomination and AU, the chemical symbol for gold, in an alternating pattern. It is a fast, simple way to confirm a Goldback is the real thing.
How to Use It
Turn the pen on and run its light across your Goldback. Watch for the hidden UV-reactive text to glow into view. On the first 2025 notes, that security text appears on the back. On newer releases it appears on the front. So scan both sides to be sure you find it. Once you see it, the note is confirmed as legitimate, and it takes about a second per note.
Packaging May Vary
Depending on our current stock, your penlight may arrive in Goldback-branded packaging or in the original manufacturer packaging, the WUBEN E19UV. It is the exact same 365nm UV penlight either way, the one made to reveal the Goldback security features. Only the box is different.
