Thor and the Gods of Germania
Thor is the thunder god of Norse myth, the one who rides out with a hammer to keep the giants back from the world of people. Germania Mint pairs him with Sif, his golden-haired wife, the way the series works through the pantheon two at a time, Odin with Frigg, Thor with Sif, and on down the list. The mint’s style is dense with Germanic knotwork and ornament, so even at this size the figure carries detail.
One Hundredth of an Ounce Is Tiny
Be clear on the size. One hundredth of a troy ounce is about a third of a gram, roughly the weight of a paperclip clipping, and the gold in it is worth very little. The premium over that gold is large, and larger per ounce than on a 1 oz bar, because striking a proof and building the Safepack costs about the same whether the bar is big or small. Nobody buys a 1/100 oz Thor to stack gold cheaply. It is a collectible, and its value is the design, the proof finish, and the capped series.
