Germania Mint

Germania Mint is a private mint based in Jelenia Góra, Poland. It grew out of a numismatic shop that Apolinary Kurowski opened in 1986, founded Germania Mint in 2018, and began casting silver bars in 2021. It is a private mint, not a government one, so a private mint’s bar is what you are buying, priced on its silver.

The front carries the mint’s coat of arms near the top: a double-headed eagle on a crowned shield, framed by laurel branches, with GERMANIA MINT beneath it. Further down the bar reads 999.9 over FINE SILVER and 100 oz, and a serial number sits in a recessed panel near the base. The reverse carries a Germania Mint hologram with its own ID code. A new bar arrives seated in a black tray printed SILVER CAST BAR and 100 OZ AG 999.9, inside a ribbed kraft outer box with a label. Packaging is included with a new bar.

 

New or Used

The listing covers new and used bars, and the title says so. A new bar comes in the Germania Mint packaging described above. A used bar has been through the secondary market, so its packaging and its surface may differ from what the photos show. Look at the serial number on the front and the hologram on the back. The hologram carries a unique ID code, and Germania Mint registers its bars in its own database. Serial and hologram are the two checks the mint builds into every bar.

 

Will I get a new or a used bar?

That depends on stock. The listing is titled New or Used, and we cannot say which before it ships. New or used, with the same silver either way.

 

How is the bar packaged?

A new bar ships seated in a black tray, inside a ribbed kraft outer box with a label listing the weight, fineness and mint. Boxed, for a new bar.

 

How big and heavy is it?

How does a bar this size ship?

It ships insured, and every order of $500 or more needs a signature on delivery. Delivery to a PO Box is sometimes not possible because of size, weight or value limits. A signature is required, so plan for the delivery day.
