Collectors love the gorgeous design and high silver content of these coins. From 1997 to 2012 these coins were made with .958 fine silver. In 2013, the Royal Mint decided to upgrade their coins’ silver content to .999 fine silver and they have been at this amount ever since.
On the obverse of all 1 oz British Silver Britannia coins, you’ll find the right-profile portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. However, depending upon the year of issue you receive in this listing you’ll find a different design. The first year of issue in 1997 was the one and only to feature the third-generation effigy of Her Majesty. Created by Raphael Maklouf, it was in circulation from 1985 to 1997. From mid-2015 until the present, the design was created by Jody Clark.
The reverse of the coin features the image of Britannia, which is considered to be the personification of Britain which is similar to our Lady Liberty. She is considered to be the defender of all of Britain. Here she is holding a trident in one hand and a shield and laurel leaf in the other. She is wearing a flowing robe and a plumed helm. She is facing to the right and her hair is blowing to the right as well. She looks regal and ready to lead the charge against whoever comes against Britain.
You can’t go wrong with a 1 oz British Silver Britannia Coin even in cull condition. You still get the great design and most importantly, you get very high-quality silver. Get yours today.

I received my order of these coins today, and I am hard-pressed to identify why the coins I received are culls. Maybe, as a stacker, I am less picky than others, but the most I could see were some nicks in the reeding on the edges of a few of the coins. I am very pleased.
