On the obverse side of this coin is a map of the United States with all the states that have legalized recreational marijuana highlighted. Around the edge are the names of the states-’ALASKA, CALIFORNIA, COLORADO, MAINE, MICHIGAN, NEVADA, OREGON, VERMONT, WASHINGTON, and ‘WASHINGTON, D.C.’. At the top of the coin is the title of what this side is about ‘STATES WITH LEGAL RECREATIONAL MARIJUANA’. Below the map is ‘AHEAD OF THE CURVE’. 

The reverse has the caduceus-the symbol for medicine-seen all over the world. It has a staff with eagle’s wings at the top. Winding around the staff are two snakes. This is perhaps in reference to the medicinal value of marijuana which a lot of states have recognized and allow for their residents to use with a doctor’s approval. To the left and right below the staff are the chemical symbols for THC. At the bottom is ‘ONE AVDP OZ .999 COPPER’
