This $10 face value roll of Franklin Half Dollars delivers twenty Brilliant Uncirculated coins struck by the U.S. Mint in 90% silver between 1948 and 1963. Because uncirculated coins retain their full mint weight, each roll contains approximately 7.23 troy ounces of pure silver, more than the 7.15 oz standard for worn circulated rolls, and pairs that melt value with the collector appeal of a series that survives in BU condition far less often than it does worn.

Key Features:

  • Purity and Weight: Twenty half dollars of 90% silver, approx. 7.23 troy oz of pure silver per roll
  • Metal Type: U.S. legal tender silver coinage, known as constitutional or junk silver
  • Obverse: Benjamin Franklin in right-facing profile, with LIBERTY and IN GOD WE TRUST
  • Reverse: The Liberty Bell, flanked by a small eagle, with national inscriptions
  • 20 coins per roll, dated from 1955 to 1963

The obverse carries John R. Sinnock’s right-facing portrait of Benjamin Franklin, his long hair rendered in flowing strands, making the Franklin half one of the only circulating U.S. coins to honor a Founding Father who was never president. LIBERTY arcs overhead, IN GOD WE TRUST runs beneath the bust, and the date sits at the right.

The reverse centers on the Liberty Bell, complete with its famous crack, hanging from its wooden yoke. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA and HALF DOLLAR circle the design, E PLURIBUS UNUM sits at the left, and a small heraldic eagle, added to satisfy the legal requirement that half dollars bear one, perches at the bell’s right. The series ended in 1963 to make way for the Kennedy half, closing a sixteen-year run.

These rolls come in Brilliant Uncirculated condition, showing original mint luster without circulation wear; dates and mintmarks vary by roll and are of our choosing based on stock. BU examples entered rolls at issue and never circulated, a fraction of surviving Franklins.

Uncirculated constitutional silver is getting harder to source every year. Order a BU $10 Face Roll of 90% Silver Franklin Halves today and hold twenty pieces of American silver history with their luster intact.
