The design is in a circular shape, representing the sun, with its rays emanating from the center. Also pictured is the Aztec solar deity, Tonatiuh. He is seen holding a human heart in each of his clawed hands. Encircling the round are 20 symbols that represent each day of the Aztec month. Four arrows can be seen pointing north, east, south and west.  The reverse image features Tenochtitlan’s last Emperor, Cuauhtémoc. Executed in 1525 by Spanish conquistadors, Cuauhtémoc is an iconic figure in Mexican history, continually featured in banknotes, paintings, music and other cultural remembrances. The detail is insane! I really want to figure out how to stain it to really make the details pop. Only downside is that some of the coins I got are milk spotting.
