The Aztec Calendar is one of the most intricate designs applied to a fractional silver round, and the 1/10 oz size makes it an accessible entry point for buyers who want .999 fine silver without the full cost of a 1 oz piece. Both faces carry genuine design weight — the obverse reproduces the famous Aztec Sun Stone in close detail, while the reverse honors the last Aztec emperor, Cuauhtémoc. For collectors drawn to pre-Columbian Mesoamerican imagery and stackers looking for a compact silver holding, this round covers both.

Key Features:

  • Purity and Weight: 1/10 troy oz of .999 fine silver
  • Metal: Silver
  • Obverse Design: Full reproduction of the Aztec Sun Stone, with a central face surrounded by concentric rings of calendar glyphs, day signs, and ceremonial symbols spanning the full diameter
  • Reverse Design: Left-facing portrait of Cuauhtémoc in an elaborate feathered headdress and decorative collar; inscription “CUAUHTÉMOC” below the portrait; “.TENTH TROY OUNCE.” and “.999 FINE SILVER” around the border

The obverse fills the entire face with a detailed reproduction of the Aztec Sun Stone, a monumental basalt carving created in the late 15th century. At center, a stylized face stares outward, surrounded by a ring of day-name glyphs, then further concentric bands of symbols including serpents, geometric forms, and ceremonial motifs that reach the coin’s full edge. The density of engraving across every ring is notable for a 1/10 oz format, with each glyph retaining legible definition.

The reverse presents a left-facing profile portrait of Cuauhtémoc, the last ruler of Tenochtitlan, who led Aztec resistance against Spanish forces in 1521. He wears a towering feathered headdress with individual plume layers clearly struck, and an ornately patterned collar covers his shoulders. The inscription “CUAUHTÉMOC” appears directly below the portrait. The border carries “.TENTH TROY OUNCE.” on the upper arc and “.999 FINE SILVER” along the lower, flanked by small decorative marks.

The round is struck with a reeded edge and a bright, lightly frosted finish that gives the tightly engraved calendar design good contrast across its many concentric rings. No date or mint mark is visible on either face. The small diameter of a 1/10 oz round makes the obverse engraving density particularly impressive at this size.

A 1/10 troy oz of .999 fine silver with two genuinely distinctive faces and a price point that suits new stackers and themed collectors alike. Add the 1/10 oz Aztec Calendar Silver Round to your cart today.

Bought 2 of these as a “just because ” kind of thing and I must say they are cool … high premium for stacking but definitely worth having some fractionals lying around and these are perfect for that .. 1 of these might be a loaf of bread one day who knows… God bless ?
