The Columbia Goddess bar is one troy ounce of .9999 fine gold from Asahi Refining’s American Reserve line, where the metal is mined, refined and made into bullion entirely within the United States. Joel Iskowitz drew Columbia for the front, and the back carries the American Reserve mark with the bar’s own serial number. It ships new in its assay packaging.
Who Columbia Is
Long before the Statue of Liberty, America had Columbia. She has stood for the United States since the late 18th century, a graceful woman representing liberty and the nation’s ideals, and she appeared everywhere from patriotic prints to political cartoons. Asahi chose her to front a range built entirely on American metal, and Joel Iskowitz drew her. Iskowitz’s designs have been chosen for more than 50 U.S. coins and medals, and his initials JI sit in the lower left of the bar.
Torch and Flag
On the front, Columbia stands in flowing robes with a torch raised high in one hand and the American flag rising behind her. Rays burst out from the flame across the upper field, and MINED & MADE IN AMERICA runs along the top edge. On the back, a textured surface like hammered leather or stone carries crossed pickaxes, AMERICAN RESERVE, the interlaced AR monogram topped with a star, and FINE GOLD 9999 1 OZ. A recessed panel at the base holds the serial number.
From Mine to Bar, All in the U.S.
Asahi says every product bearing the American Reserve mark contains only gold or silver mined and refined in the United States, and that the whole chain, from mine to finished bar, stays in the country. The refining is done in Salt Lake City by an LBMA Good Delivery refiner. That origin is the point of this bar, together with the art. It does not change the gold itself: an ounce of .9999 gold is the same metal whether it was mined at home or abroad, so buy this bar because the provenance and Columbia matter to you.
