This is your opportunity to purchase two of the very popular 90% Silver Barber Half dollars. These are circulated-grade coins meaning they will definitely have some wear. These are some pretty old halves dating from 1892-1916. They have seen some heavy circulation. One thing that they still have going for them is their 90% silver content. You get two of these coins which totals .72 oz of silver. This makes them a great way to add some silver to your portfolio.
- Total silver content of approximately .72 oz of silver
- All coins are circulated grade
- Two coins total
- Coins are dated from 1892-1916 depending on stock on hand
- Minted by the United States Mint
- Coins have a total face value of 1 USD backed by the United States Government
The obverse side of the coin has Charles E. Barber’s design of Lady Liberty wearing a phrygian cap which is the equivalent of today’s beanie hat (maybe Liberty was the first hipster?). Above her head is “IN GOD WE TRUST”. To the right and left of her are a total of 13 stars for the 13 colonies. Below her is the year of the coin’s issue ranging from 1892-1916 depending on the stock on hand.
On the reverse side is an eagle with its wings spread and fully open in the heraldic eagle pose. Clutched in its talons are arrows on the right side and an olive branch on its right. This is presumably a nod at times of war and peace. Above it is written “THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”. Below this line and above the eagle’s head are 13 stars for the original colonies. At the very bottom of the coin is ‘HALF DOLLAR’.
These coins are rated at circulated condition. Circulated means that there can be a range of wear from barely perceptible to heavily worn. Being that these coins had heavy circulation and are so old, they are more likely to be heavily worn.
These 90% Silver Barber Half coins are a great opportunity to take home two pieces of history. Get yours today.
