500 Philharmonics in One Box

The 2027 1 oz Austrian Silver Philharmonic Monster Box holds 500 coins from the Austrian Mint, each one troy ounce of .999 fine silver struck Brilliant Uncirculated and dated 2027. 500 troy ounces of silver, every coin carrying a €1.50 face value that is legal tender in Austria.

Twenty-Five Tubes of Twenty

Inside, the coins sit in tubes of 20, with 25 tubes to the box. 20 coins per tube, the same count as a Silver Eagle tube and a different one from the 25 in a Silver Maple tube. If you plan to split a box, hand a tube to family, or sell part of it later, twenty is the number to plan around.

One Design, Five Hundred Times

Every coin shows Vienna’s Great Organ on one side and the instruments of the Vienna Philharmonic on the other, both by Thomas Pesendorfer and unchanged since the silver coin first appeared in 2008. Only the date moves, so all 500 coins in this box read 2027.

What 500 Ounces Means in Practice

The coins alone weigh 15,550 grams, about 34 pounds, before the tubes and the box are counted. About 34 pounds, arriving as one shipment. Across 500 bullion coins, light contact marks from striking and packing will turn up on some of them, which is normal for Brilliant Uncirculated. The mint strikes Philharmonics to demand, so a 2027 box isn’t scarcer than a 2026 one. What a full box does change is cost, since the premium per coin runs lower than on single coins or single tubes.

2027 1 oz Austrian Silver Philharmonic Monster Box FAQ

How many tubes are in a Silver Philharmonic monster box?

Twenty-five tubes of 20 coins each, for 500 coins. 25 tubes of 20, the reverse of a Silver Maple box.

How much does the box weigh?

The 500 coins weigh 15,550 grams, about 34 pounds, with the tubes and the box adding a little more. About 34 pounds, coins alone.

Are all 500 coins dated 2027?

Yes. This box is the 2027 date only, and every coin inside carries it. One date throughout, 2027.

What is the face value of a full box?

€750, from 500 coins at €1.50 each, legal tender in Austria. The silver in the box is worth far more than that, so the face value is a legal detail rather than a price. €750 in face value, priced on the silver.

Is the 2027 Silver Philharmonic monster box IRA eligible?

Yes. Each coin is .999 fine silver from a national government mint and qualifies for a precious metals IRA. All 500 coins qualify, the same as a single Silver Philharmonic.
