Among the creatures featured in the Germania Beasts series, few carry the mythological weight of Sleipnir. Born from Loki and the stallion Svaðilfari, this eight-legged horse became Odin’s loyal mount, capable of crossing between the realms of gods, humans, and the dead with unmatched speed. The 2026 release immortalizes him in .9999 fine silver, designed by Natalia Danysz and limited to a mintage of 25,000 pieces.
Key Features:

The obverse centers on Sleipnir’s head and front half, rendered in exceptional sculptural relief rising dramatically above the coin’s textured matte field. His facial musculature is carved with striking realism — nostrils flared, eyes wide and alert, ears pricked forward. A flowing mane sweeps in long, deeply cut waves across the upper right field. An ornate Celtic knotwork collar wraps his neck, and matching knotwork bands bind each leg just above the heavily feathered hooves. Four legs are fully visible, their positioning capturing the dynamism of mid-stride movement while conveying the animal’s immense power and stability. SLEIPNIR is inscribed in the upper left field, and 1oz Ag 999.9 appears vertically along the lower left, with designer initials ND near the base.
The reverse continues the composition seamlessly, presenting Sleipnir’s rear half in full gallop, the remaining four legs completing his legendary eight-legged anatomy. Each rear leg carries the same Celtic knotwork bands, and long feathering flows from each hoof in motion. An armored saddlebag is visible strapped to his flank, its overlapping scale panels pressed in precise relief. The tail streams upward and to the right in fluid waves that mirror the mane’s movement on the obverse. To the right of the horse, Germania Mint’s double-headed eagle appears in fine heraldic detail. GERMANIA 2026 and 5 MARK arc across the upper field.
The two-sided design functions as a single wrapped composition — Sleipnir split across both faces of the coin as if caught mid-gallop between worlds. Each piece ships in a dedicated lens capsule that enhances the relief detail and protects the surface, accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
