2025 Wonder Woman 1 oz Silver Medal, NGC MS70 First Day of Issue
Wonder Woman closed out the first year of the U.S. Mint’s Comic Art Coin and Medal Program, and this one ounce silver medal from her release is certified MS70 First Day of Issue by NGC. It was bought within a day of the Mint’s opening sale at noon Eastern on November 13, 2025.
Leaping Into Action, Under the Stripes
Chief Engraver Joseph Menna, a former DC artist, designed the obverse. Wonder Woman leaps forward with her shield and the Lasso of Truth, the stripes of the American flag behind her as a nod to her World War II era costume, and LIBERTY above. On the reverse she appears with the Earth behind her and three doves in flight, standing for peace, equality and justice, with WONDER WOMAN and PEACE AND EQUALITY.
The Third Hero of 2025
The Mint’s DC program with Warner Bros. Discovery features three heroes a year from 2025 through 2027. Superman launched it in July 2025, Batman followed in September, and Wonder Woman completed the year in November. The 2026 lineup brings Green Lantern, Robin and Supergirl.
Day One, on NGC’s Terms
NGC grants First Day of Issue only to pieces purchased within one day of the first day a mint makes an issue available. The submitter provides purchase receipts and requests the designation, and NGC decides eligibility. The designation fixes the purchase date. The MS70 grade, NGC’s top grade, means no post-production imperfections at 5x magnification.
A Medal in Matte Silver
The silver Wonder Woman is a medal with no denomination. The half ounce gold $50 is the coin in her release. The one ounce medal was struck in 99.9% fine silver with a matte finish and a plain edge, and the Mint set no mintage limit on this size.
This is a collectible. Its value comes from its grade, rarity, and design rather than its metal weight alone.
