The 2025 1 oz Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Coin continues the Silver Maple’s legacy as one of the most beloved and instantly recognizable silver coins in the world. Minted using industry-leading technology, an incredible set of security features, and classic designs on the obverse and reverse, we’re proud to have the opportunity to introduce you to the most anticipated new silver coin of 2025.

Minted with 99.99% pure silver, the 2025 Silver Maple is only the second coin in the storied series to feature King Charles III on the obverse. Queen Elizabeth II appeared on every Canadian Maple Leaf Coin since the first gold version’s release in 1979, but Charles III first made his debut on the series in 2024. This coin captures a pivotal moment in royal history, packaging this historic exchange of power in stunning silver and intricate artwork.

Key Features:

  • Contains 1 Troy oz of .9999 pure silver in Brilliant Uncirculated (BU) condition.
  • Face value of $5 (CAD), backed by the Canadian government.
  • Features King Charles III on the obverse, continuing an historic royal transition.
  • The reverse displays Walter Ott’s iconic sugar maple leaf design.
  • Enhanced security with radial lines and a laser-engraved maple leaf privy.
  • Eligible for Precious Metal IRAs.

First introduced in 1988, the Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Coin quickly became one of the most popular silver bullion coins worldwide. Initially bearing the likeness of Queen Elizabeth II, it served as a symbol of continuity in the British and Canadian monarchies. The reverse of the coin has always featured a detailed depiction of Canada’s national symbol, the iconic Canadian maple leaf.

The 2025 edition, however, continues a new era with the effigy of King Charles III, who made his debut on last year’s release. This transition makes the coin even more collectible, representing a bridge between generations of royalty. King Charles III appears on the obverse of the coin; he wears a suit and tie and faces toward the left side. Like all products from the Royal Canadian Mint, expect to see an unprecedented level of detail and craftsmanship.

Turn the coin over, and you’ll see where the series gets its name. When the first settlers made it to Canada, Canadian maple trees provided the sustenance they needed to survive. In the 19th century, a popular movement to identify the maple leaf as Canada’s national symbol was successful. Today, the symbol appears on everything from hockey jerseys to the Canadian national flag to, of course, the Canadian Silver Maple Leaf. The detail of this maple leaf design helped to popularize the Canadian Silver Maple as one of the world’s most prominent silver coins.

On the 2025 Canadian Silver Maple Leaf Coin, you’ll also find a micro-engraved maple leaf privy mark, a feature that adds both security and beauty to the iconic coin. This inclusion carries on the Royal Canadian Mint’s legacy of excellence and attention to detail while enhancing the security of this coin against the increasingly sophisticated counterfeiting operations of the 21st century.

Minted with an industry standard 1 oz of .9999 fine silver bullion, the 2025 Canadian Silver Maple is the latest edition in what is perhaps the favorite coin of collectors around the world. We could not be more excited to add this coin to our shelves, and we know you’re in for a treat with the RCM’s newest offering!
