Philip Nathan’s Britannia, King Charles III’s Portrait
The reverse carries Britannia as sculptor Philip Nathan drew her in 1987, helmeted and standing, with a shield for protection, an olive branch for peace and a trident for her tie to the sea. The obverse carries Martin Jennings’s portrait of King Charles III, the official coinage portrait of his reign, with the £2 denomination. Every coin in the box shares that pairing and the 2025 date.
Four Security Features on Every Coin
Every 2025 Britannia carries the four security features The Royal Mint builds into its bullion Britannias. Below Britannia’s gown, a latent image shows a trident that turns into a padlock as you tilt the coin. Surface animation makes the waves behind her appear to move. Micro-text around the figure reads DECUS ET TUTAMEN, an ornament and a safeguard, and tincture lines pick out the Union flag on her shield. The Royal Mint adds them to make the coins harder to counterfeit and easier to authenticate.

The coins arrive in The Royal Mint’s black monster box with an embossed lid, 25 coins to a tube and 20 tubes to the box. The Royal Mint lists these coins at its bullion quality standard. The tubes split cleanly if you want to sell or give away 25 coins at a time.
