The 2024 Mexican Silver Libertad Golden Ring Edition takes one of the Western Hemisphere’s most celebrated bullion coins and transforms it with a two-tone finishing treatment that few collectors see in person. Applied to a standard 1 oz .999 fine silver Libertad struck by the Casa de Moneda de México, the coin receives a ruthenium blackening across its fields and a selective yellow gold gilding on the raised design elements and rim — a combination that creates sharp, high-contrast relief across both faces. Production is strictly limited to 700 pieces worldwide.

The obverse presents the Winged Victory, Mexico’s iconic female figure of independence, standing atop a decorative column with one arm extended and large wings spread behind her. In this edition the figure, her wings, the column, and the coin’s outer rim are all finished in yellow gold gilding, while the volcanic mountain landscape behind her — Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl — and the surrounding field are treated in dark ruthenium, giving the background a near-matte graphite appearance that throws the gilded figure into dramatic relief. The inscriptions “1 ONZA PLATA PURA,” “2024,” “LEY .999,” and the OM mint mark are visible in the ruthenium-darkened field. The reverse centers on Mexico’s national coat of arms — the golden eagle perching on a cactus and devouring a serpent — fully gold gilded and surrounded by the inscription “ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS.” The ring of ten historical Mexican coat of arms variants circling the central emblem are rendered in ruthenium, each individual shield clearly detailed against the dark field. The contrast between the blackened outer ring and the central golden eagle is particularly pronounced on this face.
The coin arrives in a square acrylic capsule seated in a foam insert, packaged in a dark presentation box with gold-accent graphics showing both coin faces and the “GOLDEN RING” designation on the exterior. The back panel confirms all specifications and the 700-piece production limit. No certificate of authenticity card is visible from the packaging image.
