The American Silver Eagle is the most widely traded silver bullion coin in the world, and the 2024 issue carries one troy ounce of .999 fine silver with a $1 face value and a U.S. government guarantee of weight, content, and purity. Any dealer in the country will buy these back without hesitation, which is the practical argument for owning them over generic rounds or bars.

Key Features:

  • Purity and Weight: 1 troy ounce (31.103 grams) of .999 fine silver
  • Metal Type: Silver, struck by the United States Mint
  • Obverse Design: Walking Liberty by Adolph A. Weinman
  • Reverse Design: Landing eagle by Emily Damstra

The obverse carries Weinman’s Liberty striding left toward a rising sun, the American flag draped across her shoulder and streaming behind her in the wind. One arm reaches forward while the other cradles oak and laurel branches. LIBERTY arcs across the top rim, IN GOD WE TRUST sits in the right field with the designer’s monogram below it, and 2024 appears at the base. The design debuted on the 1916 half dollar and was revived for this program in 1986.

The reverse shows Damstra’s bald eagle descending to land, wings fully extended and talons reaching toward a branch, with an oak sprig at its feet. Individual feathers are struck across the wings and breast in fine relief. UNITED STATES OF AMERICA curves along the left rim, ONE DOLLAR runs across the bottom, and 1 OZ. FINE SILVER and E PLURIBUS UNUM fill the right side. This replaced the heraldic eagle partway through 2021.

Each coin measures 40.6 mm across and 2.98 mm thick, with a reeded edge. Brilliant Uncirculated pieces come off the dies bright and fully struck, and ship in protective flips or mint tubes depending on quantity ordered.

Recognition matters when it comes time to sell. A Silver Eagle needs no explanation, no assay, and no testing at the counter. Order yours today and we will ship it insured in discreet packaging.
