The reverse side of this coin is the subject here with the image of three Spartan warriors ready for battle. In the background is Helen of Troy. Engraved behind them is ‘SPARTA’. The image here is created in ultra-high relief using CIT’s smartminting® technology. They gave this image a proof finish that makes the image really pop. They then gilded parts of the image with gold accents that gives it even more depth.

On the obverse side of the coin is a couple of Spartans riding a chariot drawn by four horses. Above them is an effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. This is the Ian Rank-Broadley version which has the queen wearing a tiara and pearl earrings. To the left of her is ‘ELIZABETH II’. Above her head is ‘1 DOLLAR’. To the right is ‘COOK ISLANDS’. At the bottom of this side is ‘2023’.
