Arimus is a revered figure in German history. He was the son of the chief of the Gerusic tribe and given away as a Roman hostage. He was raised as a Roman and was taught to be a powerful warrior. He later used these skills to lead the people against Rome which occupied Germany at that time. His actions began the War of Liberation which later led to Rome leaving Germany thus liberating Germany.

 

The obverse side of this coin has a super realistic picture of Artimuse pulling back his arm with a spear in it ready to throw. This image looks like a picture and has a lot of detail to it. It is easy to forget that it is black and white with the gold highlights that fill in details like the head of the spear and his chest armor. Above his head is ‘Artimus’.

 

On the reverse we see the bicephalous eagle-an eagle with two heads looking different directions and clutching lightning arrows. This is Germania Mint’s logo. The background has a kind of weathered steel look that kind of looks like the back of a shield. Appearing to lay across the coin, is the spear Artimus is holding on the other side complete with gold colored head. Around the right side of the bicephalous eagle is written ‘GERMANIA 2021’. Just below the spearhead, angled with the shaft is written ‘10 MARK’. On the other side of the spear is ‘2 oz. Ag 999.9’.
