In the Book of Revelations, John the Revelator prophecies that Judgement Day, where the whole world will be judged by God, will be heralded in by the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse, Death, Famine, War, and Conquest. All four horses and their riders are depicted on the reverse of this coin. On the left, we see Famine shown here carrying scales because he is supposed to be a food merchant spreading famine in the land. Next to him is Death, signified by the skulls on his armor, rides a white horse, and carries a scythe. To the right of Death is Conquest. Conquest wears a crown and has a bow. To the far right is War who is known to ride a red horse and carry a sword. Each of the horsemen is shown here in ultra-high detail and has gold-plated accents. Under the horsemen is ‘FOUR HORSEMEN OF THE APOCALYPSE’.

On the obverse side of the coin is a small image of Queen Elizabeth to the right with a battle scene taking up the rest of the coin. The Queen Elizabeth portrait is Ian Rank-Broadley’s version of the queen and has the queen facing to the right. She is wearing a tiara on her head. The design is super detailed and you can make out the curls on her head and the lines on her face. Above her head and to the left is ‘ELIZABETH II’. Below her are ‘NIUE’ and ‘2022’. Above her head to the right is ‘12 DOLLARS’. To her right is ‘Ag 999’. The scene around the queen shows a closeup of the horsemen’s horses as they seem to be ushering in the battle around the coin.
