The obverse side of this coin is Jody Clark’s Queen Elizabeth II wearing a crown and pearl earrings. This version of the image is in high detail and over a background that really makes the image pop. Scrolling around the coin clockwise is ‘ELIZABETH II D.G.REG.F.D.’ The letters after the queen’s name stand for the Latin phrase, “Dei gratia regina fidei defensatrix” which means “by the grace of God queen, defender of the faith”.
On the reverse side of the coin is an image of the Lion of England, a symbol of courage, strength, dignity and pride. This is a depiction of the same lion that appears on the Mote Bridge of Hampton Court. Here is is looking ferocious and holding the Coat of Arms of Henry VIII and his wife, Jane Seymour. Running clockwise starting to the right of the lion is ‘LION OF ENGLAND 2 OZ FINE SILVER 999.9 2022’.
