The obverse side of this round has the image of Ama-Gi, the Sumerian version of the figure who we know as Lady Liberty. This Sumerian version is believed by historians to  be an early draft of Lady Liberty. Here she looks like an amalgamation different figures including a Roman wearing the Phrygian cap which has come to represent a freed slave. It has also come to represent republicanism and anti-monarchial feelings. On the cap is ‘this we’ll defend’. Behind Ama-gi is the symbol of Ama-gi which interpreted means ‘a release from debt, slavery, taxation or punishment.  These images and symbols strike deep at the very sentiment that founded this country. 

The reverse is the same design as on the first two coins in the series with an enlarged Eye of Providence or all-seeing eye at the top of a pyramid which represents the idea that God sees all. Under the eye is the Roman numerals for 1776. Draped across the pyramid under the eye is a banner with ‘ANNUIT COEPTIS’ which is Latin for ‘favors our undertakings’. At the top of the coin is ‘THE AWAKENING’. Wrapping around the bottom of the coin is ‘YOU CAN’T WAKE A PERSON WHO IS PRETENDING TO BE ASLEEP’. At the base of the pyramid is ‘.9999 SILVER 2 TROY OZ 2022’.
