The Tudor Beasts Series is the follow up to the Royal Mint’s super popular Queen’s Beasts series. This series features all the heraldic beasts used by the Tudor Dynasty. The monarchs of the Tudor Dynasty ruled England from 1485-1603. During this time several different heraldic beasts were used to symbolize the monarchy. This is the subject of these coins.
The obverse of this coin has the effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. Designed by Jody Clark, this depiction of the queen shows the queen at age 89 wearing the George IV State Diadem Crown and dangle earrings. She looks regal and determined as every detail of her face is detailed here including the lines around her eyes. Arched across the top of the coin is ‘10 POUNDS’ and ‘ELIZABETH II’. Arched across the bottom of the coin is ‘D.G. REG. F.D.’ the initials for the Latin phrase ‘Dei Gratia Regina Fidei Defensor’ which means ‘By the Grace of God, Queen and Defender of the Faith’. Below the image of the queen are the initials ‘J.C.’ for the artist ‘Jody Clark’. In the background is a textured dot pattern that makes the queen’s image pop to the front.
The reverse has the image of the Lion of England. The Lion is supporting the Royal Arms. This lion looks fierce with its muscular arms and mouth open showing its sharp teeth. The Lion of England is the oldest of the heraldic beasts. To the left of the arms is ‘LION OF ENGLAND’. On the top of the coin is ‘10oz FINE SILVER 999.9’. At the bottom of this side is the year of issue ‘2022’.
Here is a great opportunity to get a nice quantity of fine silver with a quality design that is sure to be popular. If the last series is any indication, these coins are going to fly. Get yours today.
