2022 1/2 Gram Truck – King of The Road Gold Coin

The obverse side of the coin is stamped into the back of the truck shaped coin. Here we see the coat of arms of the Island of Palau. Across the top is “Republic of Palau”. At the bottom is ‘$1”

 

The reverse side of the coin is shaped like the cab of an eighteen wheeler truck. There isn’t any brand on it but it isn’t hard to imagine it as a Peterbilt or Wentworth truck. The lines of the image are flat and shiny gold which gives it a little bit of a three dimensional feel. 

 

The trucking industry has been the central figure in TV shows and movies like “Dual”, “Smokey and the Bandit’. Country songs have been written about driving trucks.  The artist, C.W.
