On the original design coin:
On the 2021 original coin’s obverse has a full-length figure of Lady Liberty walking with her right hand extended and has laurel branches and oak in her left hand. This design was created by Adolph A. Weinman.
The reverse side of the original design 2021 coin has a heraldic eagle with a shield. In the eagle’s right talons is an olive branch and in his left he has arrows clutched in its talons.
The original design coin has a ‘W’ for the West Point Mint.
On the new redesigned coin:
The 2021 new design coin’s obverse side had a new version of Weinman’s Liberty. This design was created by going back to the original design submitted by Weinman and creating a version that is closer to Weinman’s original ‘vision and detail’.
The reverse side of the 2021 design has an eagle landing carrying an oak branch.
The newly redesigned coin has a ‘S’ for the San Francisco Mint.
