During World War Two, the Tuskegee Airmen won a reputation as a venerated and powerful fighting force. The airmen company is celebrated at the Tuskegee Airmen National Historic Site, where old fighter planes are on full display for visitors.

For years, the site has been one of the premier historical sites in Alabama, where public interest in military history has always been extraordinarily high. Military coinage is a common niche within the bullion industry; important battles, groups, and victories are often celebrated using gold, silver, and platinum bullion.

Hero Bullion is proud to bring you the 2021 5 Oz Tuskegee Airmen Historic Site Coin, which commemorates this incredible historic site in Alabama. Struck with .999 pure silver, its reverse side depicts one of the famed airmen buttoning his cap as two Tuskegee fighter planes take off and fly through the air behind him. The obverse of the side pays homage to the classic American image of George Washington, first President of the United States.

This coin was designed and is guaranteed by the United States Mint, providing an additional level of protection and security to the investment.

Key Features:

  • .999 pure silver, 5 ounces.
  • Backed by the United States Mint.
  • Obverse Depiction: George Washington’s bust, as well as the denomination ($.25) and relevant mint information.
  • Reverse Depiction: A member of the Tuskegee Airmen buttons his helmet while two planes fly off in the background.
  • Multiples of 1-9 coins will arrive in individual capsules. Multiples of 10 arrive in original US Mint tubes. Multiples of 100 coins arrive in an original US Mint strapped monster box.

This coin is a part of the America the Beautiful series. For decades, the U.S. Mint has continued to print quarter-dollars that commemorate important American monuments, historic sites, and national/state parks.

So far, there are fifty-six different America the Beautiful coin designs available. The U.S. Mint directly distributes these coins, which are always sold in BU (Brilliant Uncirculated) condition. There are a variety of different sizes available; the 5 Oz Tuskegee Airmen Historic Site Coin is one of the largest pieces offered by the mint.

The history of this particular military moment is particularly fascinating. The Tuskegee Airfield was among the first African-American squads of airmen in U.S. military history. Over 1,000 African-American military men were allowed to participate in air fights for the first time, and this historic military site provided them with the opportunity to do so. In addition to being an impressive military site, this means that the Tuskegee Airmen Historic Site commemorates an important moment in the history of the civil rights movement in the United States.

This site is celebrated on the reverse side, where one of the airmen is shown buttoning his headgear as fighter planes take flight behind them. Flip the coin over to find the familiar imagery of the founding father of the United States, George Washington.

Whether you appreciate the military might or the revolutionary historical significance of the Tuskegee Airmen, the 2021 5 Oz Tuskegee Airmen Historic Site Coin is an incredible way to commemorate this important moment in American history and culture.
