The 2021 3 oz Silver Burst Coin minted in the Cook Islands by the CIT is a stunning work of art. The image of a plain, almost robot-like face breaking through and leaving broken fragments of silver behind it really draws and holds your attention. You can’t help wonder what message you can take away from it. Maybe how powerful yet fragile we are as people. CIT uses their trademarked smartminting technology to make a coin that is impossibly high in detail.
- Made of 3 Troy Ounces of .999 fine silver
- Very limited mintage of 999 available worldwide
- Face value of 20 dollars backed by the Cook Islands
- Proof quality
On the obverse of this coin is the Ian Rank-Broadley design of Queen Elizabeth II. She is shown here facing right and wearing a simple tiara. This highly detailed design captures everything about the queen in high detail down to the individual hairs on her head. Above her image are ‘ELIZABETH II’ and ‘COOK ISLANDS’. Under her image is ‘20 DOLLARS’. The artist’s initials, ‘IRB’, are underneath her image.
The reverse side has a face looking to the right with what looks like shattered glass behind it. The figure looks like a nondescript woman that is like busting out of the coin. This high detail gives the coin a kind of 3D effect that only CIT can pull off with their trademark Smartmint technology. This process creates very high detailed images. Besides the figure, there isn’t anything else on this side of the coin.
The 2021 3 oz Cook Islands Silver Burst Coin would make a great addition to your collection. It is a beautiful work of art made with high quality .999 fine silver. This coin is highly collectible with a low mintage. Be sure to get yours before they are all gone.

Got this from Hero Bullion and it’s an ok looking coin, but the premium is way too much for a 3 oz Silver. Really good company that makes it CIT as they come with the most interesting coins.
