The Royal Canadian Mints Canadian Wildlife Series features the rich wildlife of Canada. This coin highlights the largest land mammal in Canada that is found all throughout Canada. The moose comes across as a sluggish, slow-moving creature that would be open to being petted but nothing could be further from the truth. Moose would rather be left alone and have been known to charge and injure people who come near them. Tourists are warned to not come within 500 feet of them as they are unpredictable and dangerous. Every year, though, five to ten are attacked and injured by moose. Even more dangerous are moose on the road. They are the cause of over 500 accidents every year.
The obverse side of the coin has Susanna Blunt’s image of Queen Elizabeth II. This design has appeared on all Royal Canadian Mint’s coins since 2004. Above the queen is ‘ELIZABETH II’. Below her is ‘5 DOLLARS 2012’.
The image on the reverse side is that of the moose. In this image we are closer than we should be in real life to this majestic creature. Above the moose is ‘CANADA’. Below the image is ‘FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PUR’. Right under the moose’s head is ‘9999’ and ‘WW’ the initials of the designer.
This 2012 1 oz Canadian Silver Moose Coin would look wonderful in your collection. Now is your chance to get it. Get yours today.
