On the reverse side of this coin deviates from the Walter Ott classic design of the Canadian maple leaf and has three leaves still on the tree. At the top of the coin is ‘CANADA’.  To the right and left of the image is ‘9999’. At the bottom of the coin is ‘FINE GOLD ¼ Oz OR PUR’. This side is then embellished with a hologram that makes the image really pop and looks awesome.

Gold also is used in modern-day manufacturing so from a practical standpoint the world needs gold. Some believe that gold would make great currency if the financial system were to experience a crisis. Gold could be traded as it was hundreds of years ago as currency.
