Morgan Silver dollars are very popular and sought after all over the world by collectors. They were first minted in 1878-1904 and the design was once thought to be lost as only a handful of rough coins are left. In 1921, the design had a triumphant return as production of silver dollars resumed and the Morgan Silver dollar design was the design. One year later, the Morgan design was replaced so the return was short-lived. Consequently, collectors would love to add these to their collections. These coins offered here are from the 1921 mintage and are in almost uncirculated (AU) condition.

Key features:

  • Contains .7734 Troy oz of actual silver content.
  • Almost Uncirculated condition
  • Face value of $1 (USD) is fully backed by the US government.
  • Obverse features the left-profile portrait of Liberty.
  • Reverse includes the American bald eagle.

The Morgan Silver dollar’s return in 1921 meant that the US mint ramped up production and they were struck at three different mints across the US. Together, they minted over eighty seven millions coins. The Philadelphia Mint struck 44.69 million coins with no mint mark. Another 20.34 million were struck by the Denver Mint with a D mint mark. The San Francisco Mint minted 21.695 million with their S mint mark.

The Morgan Silver Dollar offered here are all 1921 coins and are in AU condition. The mint marks will vary depending on availability. Statistically, the order of likelihood of getting a coin from a certain mint are as follows with 1 being the most likely: 1. Philadelphia Mint 2. Denver Mint 3. San Francisco. AU condition or almost uncirculated means the coin has traces of wear at its highest points but no other signs of use. It still has half the luster of an uncirculated coin.

The obverse side of the coin has a portrait of Lady Liberty where she is facing to the left wearing a Phrygian cap. Around her image are 13 stars representing the original 13 colonies. Above her head is ‘E PLURIBUS UNUM. Below her is 1921.

The reverse side has an American bald eagle clutching arrows in its left talon and an olive branch in its right. Around the top edge of the coin is ‘UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Right underneath this text is ‘IN GOD WE TRUST’. Under the eagle is ‘ONE DOLLAR’.
